Men In General ........ Outwith My Man

Men are funny creatures!
They ... enjoy being in groups.
Spending quality time,
drinking beer and whiskey
in the local bar at nights.

They savour watching ...
their favourite sports from
football to rugby to even
the odd cricket match.

Depending on the guy!

Chanting and decorated ...
in their native teams bright
colours.
From deep reds
to gaudy oranges and blues.

As they shout and sing...
their hearts out loud
To their national teams anthems.
Even swear to somehow urge
their teams ...

To motivate and win.

Men are funny creatures.
When you date them.
They do the mating rituals
to get into your pants.

Chatting and praising...
making you laugh.
Being polite, kind and decent.
Maybe even holding a door,
and giving you a sweet kiss
good night
as they say goodbye after a
nice date.

When it get more serious,
and they start to meet
your family and friends,
Oh my they really do
turn the charm on.

And when you eventually
marry that same guy,
The fun beings to start even
more.

You find out more of their flaws
and faults and more...
childish inmature ways.

"Oh do not be cheeky,"
My guy will say to me.
But honestly,
he is like a little boy at times.
As other guys his age are too.

When things do not go the
way he wants them to,
He goes into a strop, or bad mood.
Like a little boy would too.

Do not get me wrong!
Men are great...
For lovers and helpful at lifting
and fixing objects around
the house indoors and out.
That us "mere" women,
hate or can not do...

They earn their keep
with working hard.
And helping pay the bills.
But most of all.
I love my man.
Simply because
he is my soul mate.
I understand who he is.
And him me right back at me.

Taking each other for everything,
good and bad together as one.

Out with having children and a family.

p.s.,
I would not change him for the world.
For that reason, that would not be him at all!
You accept them for everything!
In a good way, not bad!

It's only Richard.
Rather than "Men", I think I'd have titled this one "My Man", as it's really him it's about.
In any event, I hope he's read this and you got lucky. ; )
I used to think guys and gals are wired differently, but underneath all the girly and macho stuff, beside the physical aspects, too, we are much the same, and blessed-be we are, because there's never been a more enthralling experience than being in harmony with a good woman.

What I like about is most is that it doesn't sugar coat things. Gender neutral is the stupidest thing our society is regularly trying to shove down our throats, when in reality we should delight and celebrate the differences, as I see this poem doing.
