Curious as to what makes someone want to be a priest? But more so a nun or a monk? To devote your life to the order? I want to learn and understand why? So I am asking questions? Not to offend anyone
I sometimes wonder what makes someone wishes to be a nun or a priest? Let alone a monk?
To where they live a celibate life basically to abstain from sexual relationships. But more so live a simpler life, serving others, and following their religion of choice. I do understand Nuns and Monks can even follow a vow of silences and obedience to God of course as well as live in poverty and live in a Monestry and follow a life of prayers and contemplations. Whereas a priest can perform religious rites, and duties. And live in the local community in his pastrol home and visit his flock and assist and aid others under his congregation duties. Like performing Sunday services and funerals and marriages. The point, I am curious about are: Why because of a nun or priest or even a monk? And live your life serving God to the point you do not mix with others. Only fellow sisters if being a nun or brothers if Monks.
This whole subject of religion. Fascinates me. And makes me wonder a lot of questions? But more so. Why be so infatuated to become a Nun or a priest. Let alone want to be a monk? Does it really make you feel closer to God? And make you feel fulfilled and euphoric? And does God love you more? All because you pledged your life to God work.
I have no problem at all of course on any one choice. I am just really curious as to what motivates anyone to be so devoted and leave ones close family and the outside world more so to be either a nun or monk?
its simply a matter of Operant Conditioning... we all are to a degree ever since a Childhood's hour- some escape, due to the fact, 'they have thoughts' and not regurgitated ones..Butt, who nose?
if born on a secluded island without books, religion, etc... who would become a nun or priest, without being indoctrinated to the principles of....just thoughts ...BTW- enjoyed the read very much - melikes

I guess faith. I don’t know. One of my high school friends who graduated worth my became a shrine maiden in Japan. I don’t remember her being religious at all but she told me she founded something to believe in.
