Towards The Light

In dark times when all else fails.

Listen to that inner quietly speaking

gentle voice.

That is trying to help you and

guide you along the right path.

Do not listen to the demon

or the bad one.

That automatically makes

you do stupid and crazy things

for he is no good angel

he is wicked and evil

that is for sure.

As you already

know!

The quiet one.

That speaks to you.

Caringly and sincerely

and ever so lovely

is the one.

You should abide

and heed.

For this voice

speaks the truth

And never lies to you.

And will carry you,

guide you,

help console you

and comfort you

in those times

of doubt and

misfortune and

sheer misery!

He will be

your true friend

and hold your hand

Just please give

him a chance.

As he is the light

that will take

out of the dark!

Truly spoken - Dee. It is so easy to give in to the dark shadows that oppress us, at times. Thankfully there is that inner being, whose voice, sometimes only in a whisper, urges us to go on. To do what is right, to replace the darkness with light and conquer the evil that sometimes surrounds us.

That "bad one" is merely our ego. Listening to our "light" requires practice and awareness or as many call it "consciousness" (and not the just the mundane Webster Dictionary definition). May we all find Consciousness. Thank you for sharing!

At first I thought the gentle voice you were talking about was our own voice, but then I saw that it was from one much greater. I saw that it was God gently trying to lead to light and Himself. Beautiful and encouraging poem in a time of great darkness.

I talk to myself too much, probably like others do. And I do have a little difficulty in determining which one to listen to....lol. I think mine is a bit too judgmental of myself and situations and has a hard time just letting things be. You know, like remembering I can't control everything, or anything for that matter. This is great piece of writing that makes me think, those are the best kind. Great job!!!

Actually, I know someone like you Crowley. Who finds it exactly the same as you. letting go and just relaxing and going with the flow of life. He struggles daily with this woe and others. Life is a journey we all learn. Even me included of course.

My intuition is a bit better than most, which can cause problems as I can see them way before others, but that being said, whether I see it or not, it does not usually make much of a difference in the outcome.

I read somewhere when you've been walking in the dark for a long time, there comes a time when you just get sick of the darkness and end up no longer caring if there's a way out. I suppose depression of this kind is what we have to rid ourselves of. That's the hardest part.
