Life is like a candle

You can light it and just

let it eventually fizzle

out by doing nothing.

Or else you could nurture

it and make it glow brighter

and last longer. By looking after

it and valuing the candlelight more.

And not by not wasting it. So easily.

But be wise. Do not burn your

Candle at both ends. "winks"

I love the way you use the extended metaphor of a candle to make your point about bigger life issues. I am the kind of pyromaniac that stokes my fire constantly to keep it nicely flared up (woodstove is my only heat in winter). I never noticed this, but the way we stoke a fire could be an indicator about how we approach life in general! I see the correlation!
