Trapped in my mind

Trapped in my mind

A Poem by on_the_outside_looking_in

You tell me your secrets, I write down mine. My hand starts to tremble as I retrace each line.

The memories filled with the blood that once flowed; tainted with the reasons I had to let go.

All the secrets I kept locked deep inside, came tumbling out on an emotional ride.

I gave you my heart, my soul, my scars, you lifted me up and took me to the stars.

You turned into the reason I eat, sleep, and breathe; only problem is it shouldn't be me. What will she do if she truly knows; that you are the reason I can't let go.

Why can't I have who I truly need? Just when I give up, you come back to me.

How do you expect me to keep living like this. You make me want to pull the trigger, or slit both my wrists.

The only thing that's holding me here is my promise to you, I can't lose you my dear.

So hold me close or let me be free, either will work, but I hope you choose me.
