Cowgirl lost in a City.

Cowgirl lost in a City.

A Poem by Paige Allison Willmont

She's used to the farm lifestyle
where you wake up at the crack of dawn
to feed your belly, being lost in a city
cars are coming from every way.
Confusing, lost
they expect her to know right away
that she's from here.
Truth is she's not, she does not fit in here.
She's used to riding her pony when
she's had a bad day, not sit on the top of buildings
watching cars fly by.
Each day there are millions of killings,
murders are out on the street walking with you
stalking her as she walk. No one seems to care,
it doesn't seem to bother them that
their family members are shot each day.
She's just a country girl stuck in a nightmare.

Ooo... I can feel this one strongly. Having been raised in a small town that got big, and then traveling from small to large, to huge and then back to small again many times a year... the smaller towns are truly the place to be.

Great Ink!
