Love....

She was 14
he was 17,
"Love Conquers all"
she always whispered in his ears.
In two months, their relationship
would be illegal. But she loved him.
He loved her.

When that two Months
came, he abandoned her,
Leaving her with
a stupid mistake.

It was the only
way she knew to keep
him, instead she scared him
away.

Nine months later
she had a Beautiful Girl.
Giving her away, her name
was Paige.

I have to say that to so openly express something so personal takes a lot of courage and it made for an excellent poem. From the very first lines it just keeps you reading until the very end. I even read it over again right after I finished it the first time, the words you used are superb from the transition of the fated love, to the quote on quote mistake which bore an unexpected but happy result. well worded and touching.

[Distant horizons]

Beautifully written on such a personal subject. wonderfully written so much in so few words. most people would have turned this into an autobiography. Superb.
