A final letter to the world

A final letter to the world

A Poem by only hope

from the start we've been best friends

now you tell me this could be the end

the doctors say that you could die

at the age of seventeen i ask myself why

what have you done to deserve all of this

every night could be your mothers last kiss

how would she make it through this life

without her own son by her side

who would've thought it just last week

we were foolin around out on the street

with you by my side all these thoughts fill my head

as you now lay here in this hospital bed

inside i feel this awful pain

your dying words are 'dont ever change'

the time has come, i'm right by your side

as you move towards the afterlife

Oh man. :'( This is heartbreaking but a beautiful poem. I am so sorry for your loss. Other than the age in this poem, it reminds me of my aunt- she died at 40 of cancer. I am very sure that your friend is looking down and is very proud of you.
