Lost

Lost

A Poem by Iz

Raising eyes to the heavens
searching for strength and help
Looking for wisdom and understanding
A continuing stream of prayers
Roll off of my tongue
as thoughts
come rushing in neverending

I've searched all over Earth for my answers
There are none here that know them though
I should have come to you first
I went as far as the East is from the West
As far as the North is from the South
And no one knew what to say or do
to comfort me

I buried myself
waiting to be found
If I had just taken my head out of the sand
I would have known what is was that I needed to do
I needed to give You my cares and trouble
I just needed to lift up mine eyes unto the hills
from whence my strength cometh
My strength, oh Father, cometh from You
