Faux Bliss

Faux Bliss

A Poem by Iz

With him goes my heart
Given freely without a second thought
Not a backward glance is bestowed
Upon this tearstreaked maiden

Eyes searching the crowd once more
For the man that has stolen such a precious heart
This sweet trusting maiden
Has lost what she holds most dear

He wooed her with the efficiency  of a professional
Claimed he, a heart not claimed, 'twas his
'Tis lies were all he ever spewed weaving
A tangled web of pure faux bliss
