An Unknowingly Shaped Gem

An Unknowingly Shaped Gem

A Poem by Iz

Just looking and listening to a hand full of people
and you will find more heartache and scars
than ever thought possible from a hundred combined.

There's so much hatred and suffering in the world
without others inflicting it on those that are their own.

Whatever happened to the instinct you are supposedly born with
that makes you want to protect your own?
Where is the love that you are supposed to give unconditionally?

You selfish b*****d.
You took something that you thought was worthless
and you unknowingly turned it into a gem.
Someone for others to look up to.
Someone for others to draw their strength from.
They make the rest of us look so weak and defenseless.
They don't even know that they have it in themselves.
They just push on without ever knowing the lives that they alter forever.
