Burdens We Bear

Burdens We Bear

A Poem by Chase

The burden of yesterday that sagged your shoulders

that made your knees quake

might become feather-light tomorrow,

should something worse
become yours to bear
today.

You've got that right. Sometimes an additional burden buckles our knees and puts us out of the race, but at other times, it may actually be what's best. Life is funny, but not always "ha-ha".
