Flex

Flex

A Poem by Chase

To live
and live well,
we must learn to bend.

Rigidity will force our existence to break
when pressure is plied.
Fantastic and brilliant,
we will shatter ourselves in infinite shards-
only to be strewn about among the floor and
swept into
the trash.

Unless we learn to bend.
