Love In White

Love In White

A Poem by Chase
"

Don't underestimate your pets.

"
Tears flow down my heated cheeks and
my eyes are swollen shut.
The world looks like a blurry slit and
my nose is all stuffed up.
Broken sobs wrack through my chest
while unbeknownst to me,
somehow a golfballs' in my throat,
asphyxiating.

My blur of white passes to sight
till she's all I can see.
She licks the tears and puffy eyes till
once more, I can breathe.
I wouldn't trade her for the world,
though my world,
she is  to me.

As the biggest animal lover ever I adore this poem.
Sure tons of pet lovers can relate to this, and get all the feelings you have put into this beautiful poem.
Pets are family for sure.
My sisters cat Lexi recently passed away, I called her my niece, because she was like a niece to me I loved her so much and its still hard as on my sister and I and we are slowly pulling through it.
This poem tugs at my heart and makes me think of dear Lexi :(
Wonderful write I loved it.

Sure is. Thank you.
I really did :)
I REALLY love the title of the poem. I can definitely relate to this poem. Sometimes pets (especially dogs) are better than people- always there for you, listening, knowing and sensing when you are upset. It's just nice to always have a buddy next to you. " The world looks like a blurry slit" is my favorite line.
