One More Cast

One More Cast

A Poem by Chase
"

This is an accurate attribute to a true fisherman such as myself. And the photo is one I took last year while in my kayak. I'm proud of both it and this piece, which was written while in my kayak.

"
I haven't tried over there yet.
It looks like a great spot.
I'm sure there are lots of fish.
Just a few casts.
I'll grab a granola bar for lunch
when I get back.

I still need to shower before work but
I have that new lure I just have to try.
A few courteous casts couldn't hurt,
just to try it out.
I'll take a quick shower.

I really should be packing up but
something just jumped over there...
What if it's a trophy?
Just a few more casts.
I can drive straight to work from the lake.
I'll pick up fast food on the way and
I don't care if I smell like bait and
lake.

I'm supposed to be at work right now.
The sun came out and
all wind has left.
The lake is glass.
One more cast.

This is so me,
I don't ever stop fishing until I catch something.
Even if it's a tiny one, i'll still be happy.

That's me! Just one more cast...just a few more minutes, you might catch something...=)
I really like this poem though, I am a true nature lover.
I love fishing, for the peacefulness, excitement, and memories that it brings back.
Great job with this poem, you really captured everything perfectly!
