Overcast

Overcast

A Poem by Chase

The world above has been put to rest for now.
A blanket of grey and of white
has taken its place.

Our fire has been put out, also;
sleeping, it must be.
A well deserved rest.

I wait patiently beneath the blanket that gives no warmth.
No insulation.
No comfort.

I wait patiently for the return of my sky,
so blue.
I wait patiently for the return of my sun,
so warm.

I wait.

You sound like I feel, waiting for spring to come and for the winter weather to finally break. It's torture knowing that warmer days are so close and still feeling so far from it. Wonderful imagery and language - simple, but thoughtful. Nicely written. :)
