Love, Like No OtherA Poem by ChaseThere's a mess in the kitchen.
Powdered sugar, cinnamon, flour, and flecks of oil sprinkle the counter top.
A pan of donuts sizzles and cracks in the air; three boys, who were far too close to the pan, jump back as the angry oil aims for their skin.
A woman nudges them out of the line of fire and quickly taps each donut till they have all been turned; a new leaf.
A delicious leaf.
A delicious pile of leaves
Each chomping at the bridle bit
The woman, too, is anticipating the doughy delight;
