Ascending

Ascending

A Poem by Chase

This power flowing through me,
as my toes kick pebbles from the cliff side.
I know, that if I jumped, I would live.

Cold steel.
Hard and unforgiving,
with no opinion.
I can look into the barrel with confidence.

I am in control of my fate,
no matter the circumstances.
I make my own choices,
and the bullet will deflect;
I will walk forward, unscathed.

The enemies that seek to drag me down serve only as stepping stones
while they fall before the indestructibility that is me.
I am impeachable.
I am unstoppable.
I am ascending.
