Lust

Lust

A Poem by Chase

This want can not be understated,
undervalued,
impersonated.
This is the want that crowns all
other desires,
that lights the flame among our pyres.

Never will it cease to be
the thing that all crave inwardly.
A better piece of life to see,
with movement toward infinity.

The flow of bodies
back and forth
as hordes of hormones
crash on shore.

This want can not be understated,
undervalued,
impersonated.
This want that crowns all other desires,
until the very end;

And for that moment, there is only silence,
And a pulse.
