Love is...

Doing what is right, instead of what is easy.
It's giving you already have so little.
Love is putting that pop can in the recycling bin instead of throwing it on the ground.
It's giving your kidney to someone you already love,
or even a stranger.
Love is sharing that candy bar with your friend,
even though we both know you want it all.
Love is lending a hand,
and trusting that hand to support each of you.
It's letting that spider on the wall go about his business, instead of grabbing the newspaper to kill it. (Flies don't apply to this love)
Love is letting them make their own mistakes;
letting them get knocked down even though it's so hard to watch,
but because we love them, we must let them learn to get back up.
Love is giving yourself to another,
unconditionally
and forever.
Life is hard but
love is everywhere and
in everyone;
so let's not waste it.

I could not have summed up the meaning of love more positively than you have in this short poem. It is beyond the normal quality of definitions that some may give in response to being asked the question "What is love?". I am truly baffled by the words that you have supplied, as I do not see how one could speak so simply of love like you have.
