Misunderstood

Misunderstood

A Poem by Chase

Beautiful from many angles
Voice of songbirds singing
The fate of her happiness seems to dangle
Wavering of bravado ringing
Flowing with the melody
Eyes shining true
She belongs with love and music
Energized through and through
Every morning spiteful drink
Bubbling with caffeine
Every night, too scared to think
The path to sleep, morphine
A past of terrors unspoken
Trust for no one in sight
Pain contorting the beautiful figure
The notes, a way of light
