Why And Why Not

Why And Why Not

A Poem by Chase

Why of why do I feel this way?
Then again, why not?
Why, oh life, do you treat me so?
Again i say, why not?
Why is it that happiness...
My old and trusty compadre,
Once never left my side
Lived with day by day
Seems distant and reluctant
Afraid of my companionship
Slipping through y fingers
Dark and light, they flip
Why?
Then again...
Why not?

very interesting piece, strong sense of duality, and the constant questioning only emphasizes this more. the poem presents a feeling that i too have felt man times. overall good piece.

one type in "Slipping through y fingers" im guessing should be "my"
