Down

Down

A Poem by Chase

Sinking through the dirt and earth
Sand under my skin
Choking down the pain and tears
This, my only din
Suffocating through my days
Burning up inside
In the core, mine own Hell
Praying, hoping, pleading all
Engulfed in fiery pain
Blood to boil, skin dissolving
Infection sure to be
Losing myself and sanity
Mess of shifting, hanging mass
Back into the dirt
Pain subsides but ever there
Crawls out the other side
Gasping, choking, slowed down breathing
Gone through Hell and more
Satan has no hold on me
I kicked in his front door
Before my wrath, his demons flee
Thundering my victorious roar
