My Shadow

In my darkest times, I knew I felt a presence to be around.
I was too lost to pay any mind to this shadow. That lerked behind mine.
Now that I am mentally here, I realized back then He was there.

You watched me shed tears, storm around the dark alley streets, crying amelessly into the lonley night.
Why just watch? Why not come out to the light?

I always felt like someone stood close, at the time I didn’t understand, and mistaked the shadow
To be the devil himself.
Then I remembered, Every time I ran, every time, I needed saving…
Your shadow followed, protected me from the true devil at hand.

Myself. You were waiting for me.
Hoping im sure.
That instead of running away from my life.
I would remember where I use to run too.
& that was you.

Stupid me I didn’t realize back then,
Clouded by mis-judgement, I ran from what was saving me.
And for that I am sorry.
I am thankful and appreciative.
For I know you have ALWAYS been there.

Though you never saved me from the outside world that drove me crazy.
Why? You watched me fall?
Why not save me from the hell I was consumed into.
You should of done more, I would have listened.
I would have understood.
That all along, I deserved better.
We deserved each other.

Did you know back then, we were meant for one another.
Did you know that it was our destiny written in the stars?

Thank you for caring when I thought you did not.
Thank you for lurking, when I thought I was alone.
Thank you for saving me, so that I can see it now.
That after all this time, I am stronger..
And smarter to know that It has always been
"WE"
