SolaceA Poem by Omar NazarioThis one is for the men who live in secret The humanist stuck in an old prose that explains his intentions The voice that’s cultured and loved but misrepresented That man who shed blood and bathed in a stranger’s sweat That morning he woke formally to a strangely wonderful embrace That strained tune that shattered the mask he’d donned in regret That symmetry he’d been force to taste but found fermented That innocent touch that piqued curiosity and bursted into colors That raging dance that diluted the mephitic air and gave it a fragrance That electrifying kiss that rumbled in the depths of his swollen stomach That rattle of joy that repeated itself all the way back to habit That unmarked passion that already existed before it was discovered That exposed smile that reassured, radiated, perfected and saved Those three words That sadness that dissipated That lovely welcome That relief That love That man © 2011 Omar NazarioReviews
