Dead Battery

Dead Battery

A Poem by Mary Ochoa
"

Just a little share.

"
They just left
Made a choice to leave
Not realizing who they left behind
The people who were a part of them
We would do anything for them
Absolutely anything
But they left
Who are they now?
I don't know
Do you know them?
Are we the bad people?
They keep trying to charge a dead battery
Sweety, it's dead!
Stop!
No more pretending!
The smiles and tears are dry
Bond is shattered
It's just so sick
We all knew this was going to happen
I want new just as much as you
But not everyone is fortunate
No one is perfect
Please, no more pretending
It just hurts
Remember, you left us for a new battery.

Now this poem can take you deep down somewhere in your mind, where hardly one visit. I felt the pain and the misery you portrait...I find your poem exteremly alive. People don't even give a chance to charge the battery, they consider it dead and they go for new one. Brilliant piece of writing and as always love to read your work, you left a great message in this read. Trust me many will feel related to your work!

Welcome back pal:)

Thank you! :)
It does go off on a tangent. At least it does to my perception.

I perceive a change in tone, come the latter and final sentences.

It was my pleasure. :-)
I really enjoyed this piece. The sense of pain and urgency is what drove the tone for me. I felt like there was this ever growing desperation and dread in each line, really intense. Well done.
