RevokedA Poem by OmarWhen all that glitters Is never as gold As the autumn sun The summer wind, The sheets of your bed, Or the hair of a lost boy-- I have been declined, (and so,) A thought was seeded Inside my mind Innocently, I must have been Discovered Salvage the sunken ship --how the obsolete Lighthouse Found the needle, I shall never know But a price to pay I must A soul to sell To survive this wretched-- Everything, then, turned to smoke And everything--has been revoked It is the price It is the price-- It is the price I need to pay The civil plights And civil rights Revoked Revoked Revoked Chained by nothing But arteries and veins Sown into space, --I am free. I think, Fill Up Empty Responses have been Overridden Stimuli, Over-wired Heartbeats, Overturned Adrenaline has Its methods Overruled And fascination
is but too Overrated Everything, can.not.compute. any longer. All syntaxes unsyntaxed to the point of Ef-face-ment
Sensation is the culprit never ending nerve endings yield short circuits, Fugitives on the run Protect me. That is the purpose. Everything, Is a replication Of memories hardwired Into the crevices of my brain Once upon a time Now cemented Shut. I have quelled the sun and stars To sedation --to extinguish a wildfire The only way-- I doused the sky The sky The sky The sky Doused, and the moon Revoked And the night Placid And the sound of a zephyr Howling in a cavity And all liberties-- To love, Voided © 2011 Omar |
