lost at sea

lost at sea

A Poem by Omar
"

water water everywhere and not a drop to drink - rime of the ancient mariner

"

out to the river

to drown myself

birth unraveled

when it left the womb

birth unraveled,

into molecules with no direction

out to sea

home.

in the sea where there

is no compass

between the layers of your skin,

soft musk

city lights upon the coastline

flicker on the inside of my forehead

home is where the

absurdity is

gravity comes from

all directions

but I can see what

space looks like

I found my way

l o s t  at sea

I wish I were

as human as you

but I have been short

circuited

heart

stop

the center of gravity has been

derailed

and now,

the dissonant orbit

begnis

layout a bit confusing, but perhaps that adds to the feeling of being distraught in the poem. Well penned.

These words spin incessantly and powerfully. The image of being "short circuited" reminds me of the disconnect I experience often.

I don't know how or if a lost balance can be regained but the wish (to regain) remains.
