September ∙ October ∙ NovemberA Poem by OmarJust a random diary-poem. Written over the course of three months. I just wanted to observe myself in ugly Autumn context for once, see how I react. Weary after Long, golden summer days With dreams of shimmering waters in the distance Sequins of sunlight dancing festively Now, I—left to cool on moonlit Autumn nights O, Sweet September Like summertime thunder You knifed through the orange sky So smooth, so silent Rapid in your poignant visit— At your center, aching In the shape of a heart Breaking Yet quiet and unbreakable you are September... Voyages into the caverns of my soul With nothing but a dusky afterglow Giving me my energy and light Lingering— From August's amber embrace Onrushing October Showing no signs of struggle Sporadic but abundant In your water colored sky Quenching my thirst for rain Resurrecting the part of me Which needed life Born again Oh, Ominous October Spasms in November Neurosis—In November Nostalgic, But forgettable. Amnesia, in November I lost my memory to the chaos But resurrection, in November Grasping onto tufts of golden sun
And cruising (At the speed of light) Away—away— Away
