Petals

Petals

A Poem by Omar

Let the magic glitter settle
So I can have a lucid vision
Of my epiphanies

Post-Afterglow
When the stardust fades
And dusk prevails

I embrace the iciness

Let it puncture me,
Like thorns
Embed itself
Under my skin
Drown itself,
Into my veins

And shock my blood,
To what is

Wake me

Justify,
The vague thoughts
Into lucid sentiments

The confusion into
Stability

Now I can hear my own heartbeats
And my eyes can understand
My state of mind

tears fall

And now,

I see
I hear
I feel

I breathe

Now, I realize
My own emotions

Picking the false petals
Of uncertainty
And ambivalence,
Of a vague, vague you
As I wonder, wonder, wonder

Into a core as sweet as honey,
Tainted with tears
Tears of parting, sailing ships
But of the purest shade
Of purest bliss
And certainty,

A clearer silhouette
A stable sketch
A vivid outline
Of you

I am,

Aware of what is
And what has always been

Aware of the heart-shaped fingerprints
And footsteps to match,

Which you've painted on my spirit

You have an incredible flair for putting in words what cannot be said. You have an amazing way of releasing the inner you and revealing connection and bliss. I'm not sure your stated desire to make lucid what is felt in the mysterious depths of spiritual interconnection is possible. But, throughout the ages, that desire has led to the creation of many marvelous poems, to which we need to add this one! - EllisD

Ok I have a new favorite now. no wait- is it possible to have two favorites? XD
God you're such an awesome writer. You're very visual and yet you still maintain poetic devices such as metaphors and delicate symbolisms. This stanza is the best:

Post-Afterglow
When the stardust fades
And dusk prevails

I can't wait until you're a famous writer (as well as director!) and I can read your stuff in book form!!!

ART! It takes one to know one, eh?? This is gorgeous!!! What a luscious little ride down this poem. So many fragrant images and sparkly sentiments. So many things that strike a cord. This is heavenly, pure magic. I adore it completely!! Gosh I could read this piece all day. No way to pick out favorite parts, it's perfection dripping (I assume) from your heart. Divine. This is going into my favorites for sure!!!
