Corner

Sometimes I wish I'd be left to die alone in a corner

Trap me in a sea of night,

            Lock my soul inside a vial

Layers of earth upon my sky

            Make me forget what was once light

 

Drown the glimmers that I see,

            I'm tired of glitter anyway,

No pulsing heart shall come my way

            No fairy dust to salvage me

 

Invisible, into a corner          

            Tears of salt and acid rain  

Leave my corpse beneath the soils,

            And let me silently decay

You really get at the heart of loneliness and suffering. Unlike most of the darker stuff that I've found on this site, this doesn't have the whiny edge to it I'm so used to seeing - well done for avoiding that. You imagery is interesting and original, too. Great job!
