While I was SleepingA Poem by Madison.
While I was sleeping
I dreamt I knew what love was And you tried to start a Revolution in my heart. While I was sleeping, I fell in in love with-- you. "I fell in love the way you fall asleep: Slowly, and then all at once." And you promised me it was real. But I felt my body grow heavier and the air lighter. Then I awoke And you were gone. I laughed to myself, at my foolishness. There was no such thing as love-- Reality set in: You were nothing more than a figment of my imagination. And the Revolution died.
