Fall Weather.

Fall Weather.

A Poem by Madison.

I miss the weather in the fall and the way your breath hung in the air, like a promise to always be there. But like every warm thing that meets the cold, it melted away faster than you can say please stay. I wanted it to rain, I wanted the leaves to fall. And I wanted him to love her. I wanted every happy ending to leap off the page and fall into my desperate arms, my grasping hands. And tell me they are true. But with every warm thing that meets the cold, the words slipped from my heart, splashing and melting into the frozen puddle beneath my feet as your breath drifted and faded away.

This was very good. I like the title and comparing breath on the air to the lingering presence of someone. The structure might help emphasize some lines. Overall enjoyed the read quite a bit.
