IX.passing byA Poem by Madison.
We see the people
(on the streets)
Often carelessly passing (them by), Only a mass of people-- (a crowd) All of us just trying (to get by) Everyone nameless, (faceless), Pushing and shoving (against ourselves) Trudging through another (wearisome day), Taking not a second glance to stay (alive) We know not their pain (or plight) That which they inwardly suffer, (contend) Nor do we care. Too wrapped up in our own worlds (we are) Too focused on (ourselves.) © 2013 Madison. |
