VIII. your hand was warm

VIII. your hand was warm

A Poem by Madison.

you led me here
across this space
you led me here
right to this place
your hand was warm
and firm in mine
you whispered in
my hear that night
your voice was soft--
gentle light
you sang it soft
and dearly low
the quiet words
for me to know
even now it blows on the breeze
your tender kiss
rests on my cheek
I listen hard for what I know:
Those three words
so cautiously spoken with ease--
I love you
rests upon the breeze.
