VII. the bleeding hearts

VII. the bleeding hearts

A Poem by Madison.

The bleeding hearts
Whisper in the wind:
They speak to me
Of simpler times
Before the world turned gray.

They dance in the breeze
And sing their song
And show me I'm not alone.

But sorrow came in
And stabbed the hearts,
One drop of blood
frozen in time.

But with sorrow came true joy.
Still the bleeding hearts
Show me I'm not alone.
They share my pain
With beauty of their own.
