The Mind of a Helpless Lover

The fear is so great I can hear it in my ears.

My heart is beating so loud I see it in my eyes.

Anticipation racks my mind, as I sit and wait,

A life of love we could have, but with every barrier our bond weakens.

I held her up, yet she tears me down.

With every smile she returns a frown.

We walked together in a single stride,
