Video Game AnalogyA Poem by Olmsted A. T.Video Game Analogy They told me to wait…. (Wait) they said don’t you cry… (don’t you cry) and that when the time came they’d still be by my side… But you were cruel … (yeah… yeah… yeah.. shoo aw) and only cared for your self… (so cruel) and I couldn’t see through the smoke screen and I now I just don’t know what to do (what to do) I tried to forget about it (but it didn’t work ) I thought that I’d make a comeback
Every token that I spent brought us closer to the end and I still can’t seem to figure out how to win this game But you were cruel….(yeah… yeah…yeah… shoo aw) and you didn’t give a s**t about me (so cruel) you left me at the restaurant and the place was too far in the weeds I could’ve had my initials at the top of the list but instead I got an aching head and pockets filled with nothing but lint because you were cruel (so cruel) you were so cruel to me because you were cruel (so cruel) and now I can’t sleep I toss and turn at night mapping out tomorrows trial I’ve made it to the 27th stage and I feel I’m doing alright but when I least expect it the f*****g ghosts come out of nowhere and there’s another token gone and I’m back
where I began. © 2017 Olmsted A. T. |
