Bullshit Alibis (Munchausen's Disease)

A Poem by Olmsted A. T.

Bullshit Alibis (Munchausen's Disease)

Spare me your sordid snide remarks

and your new found list of symptoms

I don't know what your problem is

I don't care if it's a disease

if that's how you're gonna treat

your close knit so called friends

then I say f**k it let's just stay enemies

You can waste time on your side

I'll live my life on mine

you know I never needed

any of your bullshit alibis

How much effort did you waste

trying to generate our sympathy

you could have used that time

a little more wisely

a bottle of bourbon and a scalpel

are the best answer I can give

even if I already know

it's not the one you want to hear

If you stopped working so hard

on your endless list of petty gripes

and focusing on the hatred

that keeps you alone in life

you just might realize you're painting

yourself into a corner

and now it's too late in the game

for you to change your mind

All the time you spent

in an empty hamster's wheel

climbing walls too f*****g steep

to get a solid grip

you lost traction and you slipped up

once twice and on and off

it's suddenly become obvious

that it all was a loser's cause

You can waste time on your side

I'll live my life on mine

you know I never needed

any of your bullshit alibis

How much effort did you waste

trying to generate our sympathy

you could have used that time

a little more wisely

a bottle of bourbon and a scalpel

are the best answer I can give

even if I already know

it's not the one you want to hear
