Give Me Whiskey Or Give Me Death

Give Me Whiskey Or Give Me Death

A Poem by Olmsted A. T.

Give Me Whiskey Or Give Me Death

Give me whiskey or give me death

you've taken everything else i had

I've got nothing left

So leave me in the lurch

with a bottle half empty on the shelf

and I'll sit here by myself depressed and drunk as hell

Be sure to wear your bright smile proudly

make sure you tell every so called friend you collect

don't neglect to mention

how i didn't fail to botch it up again

and ill scream the chorus to the termites in the attic

because that's the part I can't forget

So....

Give me whiskey or give me death

you've taken everything else i had

I've got nothing left

So leave me in the lurch

with a bottle and this old guitar

and I'll scream how much I miss you

to the lovesick whinos and the stars

How I'd love to hop a T.A.R.D.I.S.

to the distant past in Maryland

Baltimore specific beneath the harbor lights

As we danced with abandon

as the ships pulled into the port

drinking and singing a chorus of a different sort

It went ...

Give me whiskey or give me death

I'll love you to the minute I draw my last breath

I'll scream out your name

until I leave this earthly plain

and think of you my dear

until we meet again

But till then ....

I'll sing ....

Give me whiskey or give me death

Clan Mcgregor Bushmills or Jameson

I don't care the flavor

it's the feelings i cant take

and ironically its what started this ridiculous mistake

So .. One final round ... Last call...

Give me whiskey or give me death

you've taken everything else i had

I've got nothing left

so leave me in the lurch

with a bottle and this old guitar

and I'll scream until I shred every vocal chord

and hope for your return
