Dead Baby Java

Dead Baby Java

I hope that I didn't ruin your blind date

can't believe I recognized the horror on your face

as you walked in through the door

the same frightened gaze

from 15 years before

Sideways glances there's no need

I won't give you away

I doubt the zealot owners will recall

you looked completely different back

then but still just as beautiful

it all came rushing back

as I saw you waiting in line again

this time for a Vente espresso and not an abortion

Same location

different time

completely fucked up frame of Mind

no matter the method

some day we all will die

Sometimes it's such tough decisions

that exact a hefty f*****g toll

luckily for us at that time

there was a place for us to go

Were we wrong or were we right

I guess we'll never know

so enjoy your coffee and reminisce

and I'll abstain from telling dead baby jokes

Has it really been a decade and a half

since I last saw your face

I'll be scarred forever

with the image of your distress

as we walked out into the rain

The signs the screams the shame

God's warriors replaced

with hipster coffee beans

and overpriced organic cakes
