Best We Can Do

Best We Can Do

A Poem by Olmsted A. T.

Best we can do

I've given up on america

the stars and stripes

don't entice

me

anymore

The plotline i watched

too many

times to count

and your jingles growing old

And they always tell me

it's gonna improve

but it seldom ever does

So i guess

it's the

best we can do

Because who gives a f**k

is the play we've always made

just look at where it's got us

fucked up right till now

slaves to a menial

minimum wage

all to line pockets and bank vaults

of the folks this earth could do without

And they always tell us

it's gonna improve

but it seldom ever does

So i guess

it's the

best we can do

Mediocre has become the status quo

trophies for those brave enough

to get out of bed

hand em out

to everyone

all round

no matter how much effort

you choose to expend

And they always tell us

it's gonna improve

but it seldom ever does

It's a shame

it's the

best we can do
