The Patry's Over (When the Mask Wears Thin)

The Patry's Over (When the Mask Wears Thin)

A Poem by Olmsted A. T.

The Party's Over (When the Mask Wares Thin)

So convinced you've got it pegged

won't even dare to look beneath the surface

your false confidence keeps on building

thinking you're making some sort of progress

canned optimism is kind of cute

but in the long run it's f*****g pointless

So stop pretending things will eventually get better

stop making plans for the up and coming celebration

just accept and be content in the fact

that it's all hopeless

because the parties over when the mask wears thin

The party's over

the party's over when the mask wares thin

the party's over

the party's over when the mask wears thin

the party's over

the parties over when the mask wears thin

Storing all your faiths and beliefs in causes

so easily debunked and / or demolished

nothing valuable aside from the way that things appear

the fun house mirror is distorting your perspective

and realization will b***h slap your values

and pull back the curtain

on bullshit philosophies accepted

practice apathy or just resort to nihilism

because the parties over when the mask wears thin

The party's over

the party's over when the mask wares thin

the party's over

the party's over when the mask wears thin

the party's over

the parties over when the mask wears thin
