Birmingham Brown Was Always Right (About Most Stuff Anyway)

Birmingham Brown Was Always Right (About Most Stuff Anyway)

A Poem by Olmsted A. T.

Birmingham Brown Was Always Right (About Most Stuff Anyway)

My name is not important I could be anyone

the problem isn't my identity

the fact is I've grown tired

of being mistaken

for someone who cares

what the outcome of this new caper

is going to wind up being

I've said it a thousand times

on the record over brunch

in the office or the carport

as they follow their up their leads

We'd all be a lot safer back at home

we just forgot to stay there

things are going on -

feel right no they don't

but as a sidekick no one

ever gives a s**t

when i speak my mind

We just forgot to stay there

it's this addiction to adventure

that's bound to backfire someday soon

and once it does maybe then they'll finally agree

of course by then it would be to late

and there wont be anyone left alive

to hand out my well deserved accolades

and i wont live to have the satisfaction

of saying i told you so

and it's this very fact that seems so bittersweet
