A Little Like Dynamite

A Little Like Dynamite

A Poem by Olmsted A. T.

A Little Like Dynamite

Nobody breathes like you

smoldering fires subdued

all that you need is a spark

to ignite that quickly shrinking fuse

So addicted to the rhythm of the shovel

you keep digging way past six feet deep

in over your head in innuendos

you will have to claw your way out eventually

It might be safer treading

the true and tried path

but seriously

when have you ever let

adventure hold you back

Its a little like torture

like shooting yourself in the foot

over and over and again and again

till your convinced

that it is for your own good

It's a little like dynamite

it could blow up in your face

and yet you strap it to right to your chest

without hesitating a second

hoping you have beaten the odds

that there is no way the bomb will go off

that the tnt you carry in your heart

wont turn a different round of cards
