Lets celebrate mediocrity

endorse barely getting by

all hail the king complacency

f**k giving it a try

 

Too tired or old to go for the gusto

don't care to give it our all

we've shaken hands with not shooting for the stars 

seventh place don't bother us at all

 

There's no point in making effort

so we'll practice the art of slack

make a mantra of shoulda coulda woulda beens 

and turn apathy into religious zest

 

Preach the gospel of assimilation

no one has time for the individual

free thinking has been outlawed

and the rebels quickly marked for death

This has a way of being interpreted a few ways. I love it. "Apathy into religious zest"...wonderful wording.

Thanks again, it seems very interesting to me how sometimes all it takes is a few minutes to really get something down that says what it needs to and i write like that a lot, hencewhy some are so short and some of my others are so long in the tooth.

I like peices that can bring something out of the reader by reading them and having them interpret what was meant or more tot he point what it meant to them.

I always write froom emotion and often, my pieces end up short and say just as much as a longer piece could say.
