Heartbreak Pills

Heartbreak Pills

A Poem by Olmsted A. T.

Heartbreak Pills

Just a little heartbreak pill

maybe Once or twice a day

something to convince me

there's nothing more to say

A kindness a comfort

let my mind rest peacefully

there's no such thing as easy love

the pain is part of the gain

Work every angle to the inth degree

the outcome remains unchanged

there's nothing that cant be undone

With the right amounts of effort and time applied

but it's during these errors and trials

where some of our biggest fears reside

These memories that haunt me

they taunt me I don't see

if there's so many scientists in this world

that can create man made miracles

why they haven't devised a way

to produce a little heartbreak pill

Take a little heartbreak pill

once or twice a day

And another any time you see her

the memories will fall away

and soon it just won't matter

you'll be back to your old self

in no time at all

Maybe it's because of loves side effects

that there hasn't been proper tests run

because chances are you'd have to erase all

the great times Along with the bad ones

ten times out of nine

that's what Bottlenecks the process

there's always those moments we like to reflect on

How'd you feel when you kissed for the first time

it's been so long since that scenes been played

yet you embrace it every time

Bitter as aspirin - almost unbearable

but absolutely essential

this fact is documented well
