Living In A Nightmare

Living In A Nightmare

A Poem by Olmsted A. T.

Living In A Nightmare

Living in a nightmare

Of my own design

One i cant wake up from

No matter how much i try

It seems so easy to just give up

Drag my head beneath the waves

Refuse these games of charades

Sink into the soil and end this plaugue

and become fossil fuel

I know it sounds depressing

but that's life's little joke

by the the time you figure it out

it will be too late

You can place your bets that things will work out

but bet your last dollar you'll be wrong

Hope is that unattainable fix that strings you along

Pride is an arrogant concept

for those who deny

they'll end up as the rest of us

its all part of the design
