A Gaslight Requiem

Lyrics for the title song to the concept album "A Gaslight Requiem "

A Gaslight Requiem

we roamed endlessly for years

we sailed the seven seas (seven seas)

with blood on our hands

and revolution in our hearts (in our hearts)

we'd lost our way in the world

but we knew our souls were free (souls were free)

made our way through the crowds

and learned to love the dirty streets

love the dirty streets

we'd found him lying there

body beaten near to death (near to death)

there was a kindred we shared

no town we would call home (no home)

he beseeched us leave him die

through lungs spitting clotted blood (clotted blood)

he told us his woeful tale

it was the worst we'd ever heard

worst we'd ever heard

our redemption at hand

we'd charge the city under siege (under siege)

take back what we had lost

ripped from the hands of the dead (hands of the dead)

the battle raged on for many days

we left him drunk at her grave (at her grave)

a pistol gripped in his hand

and a promise his song we’D forever sing

forever we sing
