A Bit Of A Valentine

"

Valentine

Look into my eyes and gaze into the fire there

Touch it caress it after all it burns for you

Cradle it it won’t harm you but warm you

There is nothing to fear.

Look inside my dreams do you not reside there

Are you not champion of the battle also known as love

A battle of heart of mind of trust and truth

A self waged war that neither party should lose

Glance once at my smile for are you not it’s landlord

Is it not a gift given for me from you

How does it light up when you walk near

Does it blind you like neon tint or do you see through

Touch my heart as it beats out a refrain only you could teach

Once it was nothing but a wilting wish

and now it thrives like a tidal wave

electric eclectic and full of passion

like a wine you long to consume

drink of my laughter as I will of yours

share with me your biggest fears

and as we grow older and the calendars expire

look back upon this in through the coming years.
